Welcome to the Nordic Festival of Kadampa Buddhism at the beautiful City Temple in Stockholm with the internationally renowned Buddhist Teacher Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab. This festival is a wonderful opportunity to receive practical and inspiring teachings on Modern Buddhism and to enjoy peaceful meditations in the company of people from throughout the Nordic Region.
A Special Weekend
At this special event Gen-la Khyenrab will grant the empowerment of Buddha Vajrapani and explain how we can develop the inner strength to free ourself from negative thoughts and emotions (the ’delusions’) through the practice of training or ’guarding’ the mind.
Buddha Vajrapani is the Buddha of spiritual power. With the development of spiritual power we possess the confidence, inner strength and skill not only to take on and defeat our own delusions, but to be of great benefit in helping free others from their delusions as well.
The empowerment is a beautiful guided meditation and ritual in which we are introduced to Buddha Vajrapani from whom we then receive many blessings, adding great power to our own practice as well as sowing seeds for our future attainment of enlightenment. Gen-la Khyenrab will also give a commentary on the beautiful Tantric practice of Buddha Vajrapani.
Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab
The Teacher Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab is a retired General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT-IKBU) and has trained closely with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than forty years. His humility and pure example reflect his many years of reliance on his Spiritual Guide. Gen-la Khyenrab is well-known for his deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings and his ability to convey their profound meaning in a very clear and accessible way.
